Accenture’s agile response to the bushfires enabled their people to rise to the occasion. After assembling an ecosystem of clients, not-for-profits and over 200 volunteers on Microsoft Teams, Accenture quickly deployed resources from across the organisation where needed. Accenture doubled donation matching to 100%, raising over $130,000. These measures laid the groundwork for COVID-19 when they re-engaged their people with a host of virtual volunteer opportunities. During this time, employees leveraged their leave for good, taking 1,657 hours for Defence Reserves and 310 hours for Emergency Services. Accenture also added five paid volunteering days for bushfire or COVID-19-related causes. Further, an uptake in Domestic & Family Violence leave suggests that those in need were empowered to avail themselves of critical care.
