BMG created the Indigenous Music Industry Scholarship Program to provide financial support and hands-on, lifelong mentoring. The philanthropic partnership offers two scholarships, offered each year for an initial three-year period and is open to Indigenous students enrolled in the University’s SOCI, as well as to Fifth year Law students – providing a diverse range of integrated learning opportunities.
The industry and Australian-first Indigenous Music Scholarship helped earn BMG the honour of winning the University of Newcastle 2020 ‘New Partner’ Employability Excellence Award and BMG’s Managing Director Heath Johns the Newton-John Medal for extraordinary contribution to the Arts.
