Unilever’s U-Day was implemented to enable employees to upskill, reskill and reach their career goals, thus building a future ready workforce. U-Day encourages employees to spend one day per week dedicating time to upskilling themselves in an area of their job that they are passionate about. This involved giving employees the opportunity to make use of internal learning resources and external courses.
U-day has substantially improved productivity across different Unilever departments; including increases of up to 61% in Customer Development, Finance, Supply Chain, Project Management and Marketing divisions.
